The fourth edition of Periodontal Therapy is a complete departure from the previous editions in that this publication is now the result of the efforts of many noted workers in the field of periodontics. While this is a contributors' book to a large extent, it has a unified theme and presentation. A unified approach, not only to the rationale of therapy but also to the methodology of the various operative procedures, exists herein. The text represents present thought in this spe- cialty of dental medicine.
Another departure from the previous editions is the incorporation into this volume of all aspects of periodontology from prevention to case presentation and management. Thus the book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students as well as the practitioner.
The authors wish to thank all those who have participated in this and past endeavors.
